Sister taxa: Apterodon altidens, Apterodon gaudryi, Apterodon intermedius, Apterodon langebadreae, Apterodon macrognathus, Apterodon saghensis

Type specimen: SMNK PAL 6524, a mandible. Its type locality is Frauenweiler, which is in a Rupelian estuary/bay claystone in Germany.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Frauenweiler
