Type specimen: Fig 42, pl. V; lost, but there is a cast at MNHN (nearly complete skeleton). Its type locality is Canjuers-Les Bessons quarry (micronatum biozone), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal lime mudstone/mudstone in France.
