Type specimen: NMSch (SAS) 195/43-44, a partial skeleton (skull and anterior portion of postcranial skeleton). Its type locality is Lochbrunnen, near Oberhof, which is in a Sakmarian lacustrine shale in the Oberhof Formation of Germany.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Lochbrunnen, near Oberhof
