Belongs to Amynodon according to T. Qi 1975
Sister taxa: Amynodon advenus, Amynodon altidens, Amynodon lunanensis, Amynodon reedi, Amynodon watanabei
Type specimen: IVPP V4941, a partial skull. Its type locality is Lügenzhadagai; IVPP Loc. 74098, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Chaganbulage Formation of China.
