Sister taxa: Gryposuchus colombianus, Gryposuchus croizati, Gryposuchus jessei, Gryposuchus neogaeus
Type specimen: MUSM 1981, a skull (Nearly complete skull). Its type locality is IQ114, which is in a Miocene lacustrine - large lignite in the Pebas Formation of Peru.

Total: 7 collections each including a single occurrence
