Type specimens:

  • Landreatchelys oweni: BMNH 36811, a partial shell (portions of the carapace and plastron of a young individual). Its type locality is Hordle Cliff Mammal Beds, which is in a MP 17A/MP 17B terrestrial horizon in the Headon Hill Formation of the United Kingdom.
  • Clemmys vidali: Its type locality is La Debruge, which is in a Priabonian mire/swamp marl in France.
