Sister taxa: Pterodon africanus, Pterodon dasyuroides, Pterodon hyaenoides, Pterodon leptognathus, Pterodon magnus, Pterodon nyanzae, Pterodon syrtos

Type specimen: AMNH 13253, a mandible (nearly perfect lower jaw). Its type locality is Quarry A (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Quarry A (Jebel Qatrani Formation)
