Sister taxon: Zelomys orientalis
Type specimen: IVPP V 13516, a mandible. Its type locality is Huoshipo, Guojiazhuang Village, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Hedi Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Eocene of China (3 collections)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
