Sister taxon: Chrysocetus healyorum
Type specimen: FSAC Bouj-1, a mandible (left partial dentary with P4eM1). Its type locality is Gueran, which is in a Bartonian shallow subtidal sandstone in the Aridal Formation of Western Sahara.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Gueran
