Belongs to Caenolophus according to R. Shi 1989
Sister taxa: Caenolophus magnus, Caenolophus obliquus, Caenolophus progressus, Caenolophus promissus, Teilhardia pretiosa
Type specimen: SDM 84011-84012, a partial skull (Maxillae and mandibles). Its type locality is Dong Huangzhuang, which is in an Eocene terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Huangzhuang Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling browser
Distribution: found only at Dong Huangzhuang
