Sister taxon: Tokarahia lophocephalus
Type specimen: OU 22235, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Kokoamu Cliffs, which is in a Duntroonian coastal sandstone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Kokoamu Cliffs
