Type specimen: IRScNB-IST 10681, a valve (ventral valve). Its type locality is Sample 18, Van Damme quarry, Ciply, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate chalk in the Ciply-Malogne Phosphatic Chalk Formation of Belgium.
