Sister taxa: Phragmothyris cubensis, Phragmothyris palmeri, Phragmothyris rotunda, Phragmothyris subplana
Type specimen: USNM 561502a. Its type locality is Palmer Loc. 1102, Guanajay, which is in an Eocene marine marl in Cuba.
Ecology: stationary low-level epifaunal suspension feeder
