Type specimens:

  • Palacrodon browni: SAM-PK-5871, a mandible (incomplete left lower jaw). Its type locality is Aliwal North Area, which is in an Anisian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa.
  • Fremouwsaurus geludens: BP/1/5296, a partial skull. Its type locality is Kitching Ridge (Fremouw Fm.), which is in a Triassic fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Fremouw Formation of Antarctica.
