Sister taxon: Boreopterus cuiae

Type specimen: IVPP V14588, a partial skull (skull and mandible). Its type locality is Heichengzi, Beipiao, which is in a Barremian/Aptian terrestrial horizon in the Yixian Formation of China.

Ecology: volant piscivore

Distribution: found only at Heichengzi, Beipiao
