Sister taxon: Sangiorgioichthys aldae

Type specimen: MCSN 8425, a skeleton. Its type locality is Val Mara D, bed 76, Meride, Monte San Giorgio, which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Meride Formation of Switzerland.


Distribution: found only at Val Mara D, bed 76, Meride, Monte San Giorgio
