Type specimens:

  • Liaobatrachus beipiaoensis: IVPP V11721, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton with impressions exposed as part and counterpart). Its type locality is Heitizigou, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine shale in the Yixian Formation of China.
  • Dalianbatrachus mengi: Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Shangyuan, Beipiao (GLGVM collection), which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine shale/mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of China (3 collections)
