Sister taxon: Tribodus morlati

Type specimen: GP/2T-2 IG-USP, a partial skeleton (complete fish lacking the caudal fin). Its type locality is Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general)
