Sister taxa: Aspideretoides allani, Aspideretoides beecheri, Aspideretoides foveatus, Aspideretoides superstes

Type specimen: USNM 12589, a partial skeleton (skull fragments, partial left dentary, left hyoplastron, right hypoplastron, left and right xiphiplastron). Its type locality is South Elk Creek (Diatryma steini type locality), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution: there are no occurrences of Aspideretoides robertemryi in the database
