Type specimen: SMNS 80008, a set of teeth (two associated lower toothplates (mandibulars)). Its type locality is Unterstürmig brick pit, which is in a Spinatum marine shale in the Amaltheus Shale Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Unterstürmig brick pit
