Type specimen: SCSM SC 90.16, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Crowfield Lake, which is in a Chattian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal sandstone in the Chandler Bridge Formation of South Carolina.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at Crowfield Lake
