Type specimens:

  • Craspedochelys jaccardi: Geolog. Inst. der Universitat Neuchatel. Its type locality is Limestone quarry within or around Solothurn, which is in a Kimmeridgian shallow subtidal limestone in the Reuchenette Formation of Switzerland.
  • Plesiochelys choffati: MG-LNEG 28, a partial skeleton (shell missing most of its posterior rim and associated limb elements). Its type locality is Vila Franca do Rosário, which is in a Tithonian marine horizon in Portugal.

Distribution:

• Jurassic of France (2 collections), Portugal (2), Switzerland (2)
