Type specimen: AMNH 5614, a skeleton. Its type locality is Dolores River Canyon fish locality A, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian channel siltstone in the Chinle Formation of Colorado.

Distribution:

• Triassic of United States (3: Arizona, Colorado collections)

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
