Type specimen: USNM 290601, a partial skeleton (Partial skull, pelvis, femur, radials and caudals). Its type locality is Bangtail, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Montana.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Bangtail
