Type specimen: FMNH PF8442. Its type locality is Pit 1 or 6, Peabody Coal Company, Mazon Creek, which is in a Westphalian D deltaic shale in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Pit 1 or 6, Peabody Coal Company, Mazon Creek
