Type specimens:

  • Chitracephalus dumonii: IRSNB R11 and IRSNB R12, a skeleton (an almost complete skeleton). Its type locality is Sainte-Barbe coal mine, Bernissart, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine - small claystone/bituminous coal in the Sainte-Barbe Clays Formation of Belgium.
  • Salasemys pulcherrima: MDS-JTS.V.1–40, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Tenadas del Jabalí (JTS), which is in a Hauterivian/Barremian terrestrial horizon in the Pinilla de los Moros Formation of Spain.
