Type specimens:

  • Proxicarpilius planifrons: BMNH In. 61575, a carapace. Its type locality is Ramak Kwar, south-west of Dera Ismail Khan, which is in a Lutetian marine shale/limestone in the Domanda Formation of Pakistan.
  • Proxicarpilius minor: BMNH In. 61647, a carapace. Its type locality is South of Parwara village, which is in a Bartonian coastal shale in the Drazinda Formation of Pakistan.

Ecology: epifaunal carnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of Pakistan (27 collections)

• Paleocene of Pakistan (1)

Total: 28 collections each including a single occurrence
