Sister taxon: Kalops diophrys

Type specimen: CM 27372 A, B, a skeleton. Its type locality is Bear Gulch (Carnegie Museum Collection), which is in an Arnsbergian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.
