Type specimen: D3080, D3081, a skeleton. Its type locality is Mutoudeng, which is in a Bathonian/Kimmeridgian lacustrine shale in the Tiaojishan Formation of China.

Ecology: volant piscivore

Distribution: found only at Mutoudeng
