Type specimen: PC-1, a partial skeleton (An almost complete articulated skeleton exposed in ventral view). Its type locality is Civita di Pietraroja (upper plattenkalk), which is in an Albian basinal (carbonate) mudstone/wackestone in Italy.
Distribution: found only at Civita di Pietraroja (upper plattenkalk)
