Type specimen: MCZ 4070, a partial skeleton (almost complete skeleton, lacking the lower jaw, caudal vertebrae, distal parts of the limbs, and posterior part of the shell). Its type locality is 1 mile from Hardy, on road to Forestburg, which is in an Albian terrestrial horizon in Texas.
