Sister taxon: Cedrobaena brinkman

Type specimen: YPM PU 14984, a skull (an almost complete partially crushed skull). Its type locality is Cedar Point Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Fort Union Formation of Wyoming.
