Belongs to Nothosoma according to P. M. G. Egerton 1858
Sister taxon: Nothosomus laevissimus
Type specimen: BMNH P566, a partial skeleton (lacking head). Its type locality is Street, Egerton collection, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian marine horizon in the United Kingdom.
