Sister taxa: Caseodus basalis, Caseodus eatoni

Type specimen: TMP 86.42.3, a partial skull (neurocranium and anterior portion of lower jaws). Its type locality is C cirque, Fossil Fish Lake, Wapiti Lake, which is in a Smithian offshore siltstone in the Sulphur Mountain Formation of Canada.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at C cirque, Fossil Fish Lake, Wapiti Lake
