Sister taxon: Cacalydus exstirpatus
Type specimen: PU 1.508, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Florissant (former Princeton collection), which is in an Eocene lacustrine - large shale/volcaniclastic in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Florissant (former Princeton collection)
