Sister taxon: Coelidia columbiana

Type specimen: Peale 6b, a tegmen. Its type locality is Bluffs at head of Twin Creek (Peale collection), which is in a Wasatchian lacustrine - large shale in the Green River Formation of Wyoming.

Distribution: found only at Bluffs at head of Twin Creek (Peale collection)
