Sister taxa: Brimosaurus grandis, Cimoliasaurus brevior, Cimoliasaurus maccoyi, Cimoliasaurus magnus, Cimoliosaurus magnus, Cimoliosaurus snowii

Type specimen: lost, a partial skeleton (numerous vertebrae and nearly a complete front limb). Its type locality is Near Freezeout Mountain(s) [PROXY], which is in an Oxfordian marine horizon in the Sundance Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: there are no occurrences of Cimoliosaurus laramiensis in the database
