Type specimen: UCMP 33912, a partial skeleton (fairly complete skeleton with a partly disarticulated skull). Its type locality is Panoche Hills 5, UCMP V3735, which is in a Maastrichtian marine shale in the Moreno Formation of California.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Panoche Hills 5, UCMP V3735
