Type specimen: IVPP V10028, a partial skeleton (incomplete skeleton including well-preserved skull articulated with mandible, part of the vertebral column, pelvis, and disarticulated limb bones). Its type locality is North Canyon area, (Bayan Mandahu) [SCDP surface collections], which is in a Campanian eolian sandstone in the Djadokhta Formation of China.
