Type specimen: PKUP V4881, a skeleton (laterally compressed specimen, pectoral fins missing). Its type locality is Beishan Hills, Quarry 3, Subei County, which is in an Olenekian lacustrine shale in the Hongyanjing Formation of China.

Distribution: found only at Beishan Hills, Quarry 3, Subei County
