Type specimen: UALVP 40955, a partial skeleton (most of skull and mandibles, right ulna, caudal vertebra, some dorsal osteoderms, and other postcranial fragments). Its type locality is Griffith's Farm (upper Scollard Fm), which is in a Danian terrestrial siltstone in the Scollard Formation of Canada.
