Type specimens:

  • Baptemys garmanii: USNM 4103, 4129 (one individual), a partial shell. Its type locality is A point near Bear River, 6 miles north of Evanston, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.
  • Baptemys tricarinata: AMNH 6109, a partial shell. Its type locality is Mouth of Alkali Creek, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Wind River Formation of Wyoming.
  • Dermatemys costilata: USNM 1152, a partial shell.

Ecology: aquatic herbivore-omnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of United States (5: New Mexico, North Dakota, Wyoming collections)

Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
