Sister taxa: Comptonia bretoni, Comptonia bruni, Comptonia elegans, Comptonia soullansensis, Comptonia thierryi, Comptonia wightensis

Type specimen: holotype: 8993, Geological Survey, Ottawa. Its type locality is Starfish Creek, Peace River canyon, which is in an Albian marine shale/sandstone in the Hasler Formation of Canada.

Ecology: epifaunal detritivore

Distribution: found only at Starfish Creek, Peace River canyon
