Type specimen: AC 1/36, 31/46, a footprint. Its type locality is The Cove, Wethersfield, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian fluvial-lacustrine shale in the Portland Formation of Connecticut.

Distribution: found only at The Cove, Wethersfield
