Type specimen: MV 7696, a skeleton (complete specimen preserved as a carbonaceous imprint). Its type locality is MV 7106, Supercrop Quarry, Bear Gulch, which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.

Distribution: found only at MV 7106, Supercrop Quarry, Bear Gulch
