Type specimen: Museum of the Department of Historical Geology, St. Petersburg University, E. Eichwald collection no. 4/22 (lectotype), a shell. Its type locality is Pulkovo, Asaphus raniceps, which is in a Kunda carbonate wackestone/packstone in the Russian Federation.
