Sister taxon: Chendytes milleri
Type specimen: UCMP 27001, a set of limb elements (tibio-tarsus and tarso-metatarsus). Its type locality is Santa Monica, north, which is in a Pleistocene coastal sandstone in the San Pedro Formation of California.

• Quaternary of United States (28: California, Oregon collections)
Total: 28 collections each including a single occurrence
