Type specimens:

  • Ophisauriscus quadrupes: GM CeVII-804, a skeleton. Its type locality is Geiseltal, Ce VII, Grube "Cecilie", which is in a MP 13 lacustrine horizon in Germany.
  • Ophisauriscus hallensis: GM 4038, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton with a portion of the tail missing). Its type locality is Geiseltal, Mittelkohle, Zone III (Middlecoal, zone III), which is in a Lutetian lacustrine lignite in Germany.
  • Parapseudopus minor: GM 4039, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton).

Ecology: insectivore-carnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of Germany (3 collections)
