Type specimen: KUVP 1204, a skeleton (complete skull and shell and some limb elements). Its type locality is Porthochelys type locality, which is in a Cretaceous marine horizon in Kansas.
Ecology: aquatic omnivore
Distribution: found only at Porthochelys type locality
