Type specimen: KUVP 1209, a partial skeleton (plastron, twelve marginalia, two or three neuralia, and portions of two costal plates). Its type locality is Niobrara, which is in a Santonian marine chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of United States (4: Alabama, Kansas collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
